Upgrade from D7000 to D7100 not worth
Upgrade from D7000 to D600 worth
Upgrade from D90 to D7000 worth
Upgrade from D90 to D7100 Totally worth
Upgrade From D90 to D600 Totally Worth
Upgrade From D300 to D600 Totally Worth
Upgrade From D300s to D7100 Worth

if you have to choose between the d7000 or d7100 go for the d7100 if money is not a problem spend 800$ and get the d600 but if you wanna save 300$ and get a better lens get the d7000

It is not a must have upgrade for those who currently have a D7000 but, if you shoot a lot of video it becomes something you may well want to consider.

Apologies, Just a quick question... Have you taken the time to really examine the differences between the 7100 & 7000? Because your advise is inaccurate... There are huge differences between these 2 cameras!!! Giving it worthy consideration to an upgrade from a D7000.

Lets just Name a few advantages and differences of the d7100...

950x more shots per battery charge
Around 10% larger screen & More than 30% higher resolution screen
Combines multiple exposures to capture high dynamic range In the camera!!
Capture around 50% more detail in your photos (Hmm Pretty big difference there!!)
The D7100 has a slight edge (0.1 f-stops) in low noise, high ISO performance
Significantly more cross-type focus points 15 vs 9 helps grab focus in difficult situations
More focus points 51 to be exact opposed to 39
The 7100 is 10% lighter
Added 1.3x Magnification @ 15-16mp!!! lmao ahh thats pretty big!! That helps me nearly double my focal length!!

Thats just to name a hand full, I can keep going!!

I tell you what, when DxO releases the official scores for lenses, coming soon btw, I will bet one of my D800's that you will retract that statement, and thank me for sending you out to go add one to your camera bag!!!

Cheers,

That Nikon Guy ; )

ThatNikon Guy

I'm not saying that the d7000 is better I'm just saying the upgrade to the d7100 is not worth for the money and if you dont own any i will say go for the d7000 because is better for the money you can buy better lens that will give better result, compare to the d7100 with the start kit lens

now tell me something would you get the d7100 if you own a d7000

What is better have better camera with standard lens
or standard camera with better lens
