"When tested under lowlight conditions (20 lux, roughly the equivalent to shooting at dusk), the Sony SLT-A77 performed nearly as well as the Canon,"========================Really? From what I've seen in your tests 70D performed INAPPROPRIATELY slowly, not even close to the A77.

For video, the worst thing would be to focus too fast. Both systems are pretty good, the Sony’s system focus faster.

These are both basically still cameras so focusing speed if very important, and your testing indicates that on sensor focusing while good still needs improvement. Experienced videographers prefer using manual focus, which is more appropriate to that craft.
