Nikon P7800

Both the Nikon P and Canon G series cameras offer a level of portability that requires small sensors with their inevitable limitations. If one does not need that kind of portability, there is plenty of better (bigger, heavier and more expensive) cameras on the market. That said, the overall quality and feature sets of these cameras are unbelievable given their compact size. I am a happy owner of a Canon G12 as a go-everywhere camera, plus M43 and APS-C systems for regular work. With judicious shooting and Raw processing, I make top quality prints up to 16x20" with the G12. I am buying the Nikon P7800 because it offers a more than decent EVF, maintains the fully articulated LCD and its slow writing speed is not an issue for me. In its own domain, the P7800 is a truly excellent camera.
