Crop modes will have corresponding RAW files. So both jpg and RAW will be cropped according to chosen crop factor - called 'Image Area'.
However, if M or S size is chosen in any mode (FF or crop), the jpg only will be made M or S, the raw file will always be L. This is called 'Image Size'.
Image Size is achieved by taking the full capture at chosen crop factor and downsizing it if M or S is chosen to create the jpeg. The RAW will however remain L, full capture size.
