This a comment for this page on the website
Following to my first question, I've got another simple question where I see different answers on forums. When using the D800 in DX crop mode, we only MP, not IQ, but can we shoot RAW or the crop modes only apply to JPEG files?

Crop modes will have corresponding RAW files. So both jpg and RAW will be cropped according to chosen crop factor - called 'Image Area'.

However, if M or S size is chosen in any mode (FF or crop), the jpg only will be made M or S, the raw file will always be L. This is called 'Image Size'.

Image Size is achieved by taking the full capture at chosen crop factor and downsizing it if M or S is chosen to create the jpeg. The RAW will however remain L, full capture size.
